PREP Mission Statement


We in the St. Joseph Parish Religious Education Program (PREP) are part of a parish family that is deeply committed to the religious education of our children. Our program strives to foster faith formation through teaching the message of Christ, celebration of the Sacraments, family involvement and community service. We encourage our children to bring Jesus into their daily lives and to become stewards of our Catholic faith.

VOLUNTEERING

Please consider helping out. We can offer a quality religious-education program for our children only if we all are willing to participate in whatever way our schedules permit. What a great example of stewardship this is! Please fill out the volunteer form. To help protect all of God’s children, all volunteers must have on file in the Parish Offices: Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse History Clearance and verification that they have attend a Safe Environment session. Please list all areas in which you wish to volunteer. See the Volunteer form for more information.

1 co-teacher for level 2 Reconciliation and Communion class
1 co-teacher for level 6 Confirmation class
Please prayerful consider giving your time and talent to the children of St. Joseph Parish.
Every effort is made to place your child(ren) in class(es) during  the session you are volunteering. If you have any questions, please contact the PREP office.

Class lists ARE posted in the Church narthex on the brick wall near the stairs to the choir loft
(and will remain up through Labor Day Weekend )
The list will also be posted on the front doors of the Education Center (school) the first day of class

Catholics Reconnecting

Are you looking to more actively practice your Catholic faith?

Catholics Reconnecting may be just right for you. This six-session series includes topics such as “Spirituality” “God’s Mercy” “The Mass” and “The Church.” You can learn and ask questions…all in a friendly and confidential setting with other Catholics.

St. Joseph’s Catholic Parish invites you to six Catholics Reconnecting sessions, Wednesdays, 7:45 to 9:00 p.m., beginning on October 13, 2010.

CLASS CANCELLATIONS
In the event of inclement weather, an announcement will be recorded on the answering machine in the PREP office (610) 873-8798. An email will be sent to families (please email stjoeprep2@yahoo.com to have your email added to the list). An announcement with be posted on the website http://ww.stjoeprepdtown.org. Closings will also be announced on KYW 1060 by number (1353, under Chester County). If Downingtown school district is in session on a day when PREP meets and the district closes or dismisses early due to inclement weather, PREP classes will be canceled automatically.
