Dear Parents and Guardians,

Thank you all for a wonderful year! The time seemed to pass by so quickly. Classes officially end on May 13, 14, and 15 respectively. It is my hope that all children will be present for the last class.

We just finished celebrating three wonderful First Communion Masses with 207 parish children. The children looked beautiful and handsome in their finery. They were very excited to receive Jesus for the first time in Holy Eucharist and did very well in conversing with Monsignor McLoone and Father Kean during each homily. It was a wonderful day for the children and for Saint Joseph Parish.

Thank you to the children and their families who participated in the Parish May Procession.

With the changes coming to our PREP class schedule for September, we are in need of volunteers to serve as Co-Catechists. We especially have openings for the 4:45 p.m. session on Tuesday afternoons. To help those who may want to teach but have younger children, we will offer babysitting during the 4:45 session as we do on Mondays. Please consider helping us out so that we can keep class sizes to a reasonable number for all of our volunteers.

As you can see, much has already been done to prepare the lot for the new church. The construction crew is in the midst of putting in the infrastructure for the water and sewer lines, drainage fields, conduits for the electric lines, etc. They will soon be able to pour the concrete foundation. It is exciting to watch the almost daily changes.

If you are traveling this summer please be mindful of attending Sunday Mass wherever you may be. You can always find a Catholic Church through www.masstimes.org, and some cell phone packages even have a free app for that.

Help your children to continue to pray each day. It is important that they know their basic prayers and any specific prayers for each grade level. They must know their Act of Contrition and be comfortable with the Form for Confession for any time they may wish to go to Confession.
Registration information for 2012-2013 was sent home with all children. It is available at www.stjoeprepdtown.org. Please mail your return information back as soon as possible.
There are some changes for 2012-2013 which may affect your choices for class sessions next year. It is our hope that the changes will be minimal for you and that you might consider helping us as a volunteer.
Please do contact us with any questions or concerns you may have regarding registrations.

Thank you for all you do. God bless you and keep you.

Mrs. Kathy Thomas, DRE
